Trinidad & Tobago TATT exempting SRD from type approval

27 September 2017, during our recent type approval submission to Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT), we were advised that wireless products which output power is less than 2 watts are under the category of Class License and do not require Type Approval for selling & importation into Trinidad and Tobago.

TATT mentioned they are more concerned with the importation of High Power Radio/wireless devices that require Licenses (for example Maritime Radios) from the Authority.

In conclusion, commercial Wireless Short range devices such as WLAN, BT, etc. (SRD, LPD) are regulated under Class Licensed by the Authority, and do not require type approval.

Bureau Veritas CPS E&E can facilitate our clients to align with above updates.
Please do not hesitate to contact us, if any inquiry.
